Power Home Remodeling Group - Signed yesterday; cancelled today.
When I don't have time to research a company and still sign an agreement, I get angry with myself later. This is no exception. After a slick but very detailed presentation regarding roof installation and how PHRG's methods and materials were better than most others, I will admit I learned a lot about roofing. At least I will know more to ask another roofing company when I call for an estimate.
Like others here, we were presented a cost of roof replacement, guaranteed for one year, and then a lower price if we signed a contract immediately, which we took. I will admit the presentation was impressive, although it took three hours. But once I began looking online for reviews of the company, I saw too many negative reviews for my comfort level and have called, and am also mailing, my cancellation within the three allowed business days. I have cancelled for another reason as well. When I see merchandise for sale in TV commercials, which then often say "If you call right now, we will send you two for the price of one," I think to myself, what a gimmick. In the case of PHRG, the "Sign Right Now" price is an equivalent gimmick, and I fell for it. But a company who proclaims how much better its product is than any other should have the confidence and integrity and respect for customers to allow a customer to think about a decision rather than being worn down by a slick salesman.
PHRG insists on sending a courier to have me sign one more time, which is unnecessary and which is not mentioned at all in the Notice of Cancellation papers left by the salesman. But I will sign one more time to cancel, and will never deal with PHRG again.
